VISION: To play high quality football, be the club of choice for aspiring footballers and a breeding ground for professional football.

About the Club

St John’s A.F.C. has since its inception in 1923, attracted many skilful and previously disadvantaged individuals to entertain the local community. A new era started when St John’s A.F.C. amalgamated with Wynberg Soccer Club. The wisdom of this amalgamation was clearly demonstrated in the following five years when the soccer scene in the Western Cape was totally dominated by the newly formed Wynberg St John’s A.F.C. 

Some of the achievements for the ‘new kid on the block’ were: 

• • • Winners of the inaugural New Unification League 
    • Finalists in the Hunters Gold Knock-Out Competition 
    • Semi-finalists in the National Maize Competition 
    • Voted Club of the Year in 1992.  

During this period the junior section i.e. the under 9 to under 17’s won an average of 10 trophies per season. These achievements attracted hordes of players, especially the juniors resulting 300 players on our junior books.
